Is there a singular character that really touched your heart and why?
Hi, Amber! Thanks for your question. I have a confession to make: I’m a sucker for ensemble or team stories. Something about that web of connecting friendships and the way a close-knit group of people interact and help one another really tugs at my heartstrings. This fascination tends to bleed into my writing a lot—I can’t help it! Folks do say one should write the stories one wants to read, and elements I enjoy in literature typically find themselves included in my work. Because of my fondness for these sorts of stories, Bruno is probably the character who most touched my heart. He’s focused on keeping the crew together and taking care of them, and he’s the central pillar of the group. It’s likely the crew would fall apart without him. He’s a loveable but morose father figure, and I intend to eventually tell more of his story in my upcoming series of novellas, The Cendrillon Cycle.
About the Book
It’s a dangerous life, yet Elsa wouldn’t trade this opportunity to work at Tremaine Station, mining cendrillon from the seething surface of planet Aschen. Nevertheless, when a famous deep space explorer and his handsome son dock their starcraft at the space station, Elsa finds herself dreaming of far galaxies beyond Aschen’s blistering heat. There is no time for dreaming, however, when danger threatens the space station, and Elsa and her fellow miners are tested to the limits of their courage.
